Week 1 Journal

I have never taken an online course before, and so far I have to say that I have been enjoying the experience. The flexibility of the course is great, as I can pick when and where I want to listen to the lectures, do the homework, etc. I was a little worried that it would be difficult to learn properly from just listening to a lecture, but I didn't experience any issues with understanding the material from the first lecture, and writing the first assignment really made me think about the definition of what can be communicable, and what can't, which was pretty eye-opening.

The fact that everyone in the class is in one big online community is pretty cool, people comment on each other's posts, and there is a lot of constructive feedback given (atleast, there was for the first assignment). I enjoyed reading everyone's posts and seeing how they may have come to a different conclusion than I did as far as what things can be communicable. It was also fun to read my classmates' self introductions, because it's interesting to learn more about people you don't know and to find out cool facts about the places they've been and the things they've done.

Overall, I am enjoying the course, the people in it, and the way it is structured so far, and I am interested and really excited for the chance to see what I will learn as the semester continues!
