Ravens Progressive Matrices is a nonverbal fluid intellegence test that assesses abstract reasoning using a set of questions composed of patterns and the test takers is asked to choose from a multiple diagrams the one that completes the pattern correctly.

The test is easy to administer and is validated and standarised. It also produces a raw score that allows to assess g component of Spearmen's cognitive theory. The test in nonverbal which makes it easy to use across different lingual and ethnical cultures. However, the test ignores the verbal ability, the knowledge of participants as well as their emotional intellegence.
