Example of an Educational Evaluation: Career Activity Program for High School Students
Objective:
Evaluate the effectiveness of a Career Activity Program designed for high school students in enhancing their understanding of various career paths and in developing essential skills for their future careers.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Knowledge Gain: Assess the increase in students’ knowledge about different career options.
- Skill Development: Evaluate improvements in key competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.
- Engagement Level: Measure student engagement and interest throughout the program duration.
- Career Readiness: Determine how prepared students feel to make informed decisions about their future after participating in the program.
Methodology:
- Pre and Post Surveys: Conduct surveys before and after the program to measure changes in students’ knowledge and perceptions about various careers.
- Skill Assessments: Use performance-based assessments to evaluate improvements in skills critical for workplace success.
- Focus Groups: Hold discussions with participants to gather qualitative feedback on program engagement and perceived value.
- Follow-Up Surveys: Send follow-up surveys six months after program completion to assess the long-term impact on students’ career choices and readiness.
