Assessment for Learning MOOC’s Updates

Find a piece of research that uses educational data mining as a source of evidence. What kinds of things can educational data mining tell us, or not tell us?

Educational Data Mining (EDM) aims to identify how students learn online in "blended" modules by conducting research using machine learning techniques based on log data stored in the MOODLE database. The results can be useful for improving teaching methods and testing hypotheses related to learning, and implementing software so that they can be done routinely. However, the potential risks and limitations of the research methodology seem to be unclear.

EDM research can be influenced by 1) learning contexts, 2) e-learning platform, and 3) scientific paradigm.

Eg: Moodle is a free and open source learning platform called one type of LMS or online learning coordinated by Moodle HQ and used for blended learning, distance learning, flipped classroom and other online learning. learning projects in schools, universities, workplaces and other areas. We also used MOODLE at Apeejay Stya University. Moodle offers students greater flexibility in accessing resources and increases commitment to assignments, which can lead to better learning outcomes. Moodle allows students to engage in classroom learning activities such as research, acquisition, practice, discussion, production and collaboration online and then share the output with others.
