Who am I? A brief about me, Noura.
Hello everyone, my name is Noura, I am a 22-year-old fresh graduate who majored in English Literature at the British University in Egypt. I just enrolled a day or two ago in the e-Learning Ecologies course. The reason why I took an interest in this course specifically is that I am planning on applying for a Teaching Assistant position at the university I graduated from and I was advised by a previous supervisor to educate myself on the subject of teaching, in a way that upscales my knowledge about teaching and what it takes to be a teacher in the Digital Age :)
So far, the course has proved to be pretty interesting and highly logical, the information that I have come across created a cycle of creative thoughts and how I can create an innovative, inclusive and fun environment for my future students.

Congratulations for your graduation, and wish you success in your professional journey as a teacher.
Teaching in the 'Digital Age' is luckily blessed with a multitude of teaching strategies that have evolved over the past few decades, away from the traditional teaching by lecturing. Technology is leveraged by presenting learning content within audio and visual prompts that keep students engaged with the teacher and can potentially enhance their learning. However, having observed many lessons as a school inspector, allow me to point out some commmon trends that a teacher needs to plan for and self-evaluate at the end of every teaching-learning unit. These are aspects of student learning that appear to be under-developed due to an exxaggerated focus on technology rather than developing student cognitive skills:
1. What has the student actually learned by the end of the lesson, in terms of knowlegde/ skills/ problem solving/ and metacognition?
2. How can I assess student learning as per the objectives of the lesson?
3. Have students acquired communication skills and use of the right terminology that would enable them to express their ideas/questions clearly?
