Active knowledge making (Research based learning)

Active knowledge making is giving a chance for learners to build their understanding of the topic being taughtrather than just telling them what it is( Danny Ballan).

Research based learning (RBL) is a didactic technique that aims to connect the teachings in the classroom with the techniques and research methodologies that allow students to develop competenciesand analysis, reflection and argumentation skills along with their training. this learning tool links the contents of the teaching of the teaching units with theoretical and practical information collected directly by the students, allowing them to participate in the construction of knowledge( observatory.tec.mx/edu-bits-2/researche-based-learning).

It an also be seen as a didactic approach that connects research with teaching. this means the students are the main constructors of knowledge.

In a Development studies class a teacher can assign students a project where they actually practice concepts like land reclamation where wetlands had consumed arable land where agricultural activities used to take place.
