Abstract

This report is a study of student’s well-being and ability to cope at school and other student environments in Estonia in 2004. Threats, actual violence, a comparison of issues by gender, breakdown by school grade levels, relevance of language of instruction and geographical position are among the factors taken into consideration. The data used is that of the state-funded research project ‘School as a Developmental Environment and Students’ Coping’, a study of factors for school dropout that includes issues related to security, misdemeanour and attitudes towards school
