Abstract

As part of a larger Literacy Project a partnership was developed between U.S. educators and community leaders and educators in a rural district in Kenya. Based on needs in the community it was determined that there was a need for some sort of HIV/AIDS education for school children as well as community members. After an initial seperate question and answer periods with cummunity elders and school children, a basic plan was developed and implemented. This paper focuses on an analysis of the questions and their implications for a culturally sensitive HIV/AIDS education curriculum.
