Abstract

This essay focuses on the correlation between a play by José Moreno Arenas and a film by Pedro Almodóvar as regards the implementation of technology in their work. I propose that the interaction between the characters and their technological environments leads them on a road to destruction and chaos in a world manipulated by machines. Technology plays a key role in these works and functions as a controlling agent that serves as a vehicle for providing critical commentaries on Spanish culture and society.
