Abstract

Concerns over educational relevance and quality coexist with the imperative of expanding educational opportunities to those made most vulnerable by globalization. Global changes also put pressure on all groups to constantly acquire and apply new skills. Thus, information and communication technologies (ICTs) which include radio and television, as well as newer digital technologies such as computers and the internet, have been touted as potential powerful enabling tools for educational change and reform. This paper examined the relevance of ICTs in the administration and organization of a functional continuing education programme in Nigeria. The research stems from an empirical standpoint. The findings from this study revealed ICT will, among other things, facilitate effective administration and management of activities and processes of continuing education programmes. This study contributed to the dearth of literature in continuing education programmes and ICTs.
