Abstract

The main objective of this research is to study the relationship between KMUTT students’ utilizing community learning resources and moral reasoning in the subject area of Man and Ethics for Quality of Life. The study used quantitative and qualitative methodology. Three hundred eighty three KMUTT students gave information from 3 sets of structured questionnaires based on information of learning resources, Kohlberg’s idea and the social public policy respectively. Field data came from the key informants that consisted of 5 teachers and 10 focus group discussions of 8-10 students. The teachers were individually interviewed in-depth. The analysis of data involved fundamental statistical analysis, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient., content analysis and inductive analysis. The results of the research, both statistical and descriptive data, came up to the conclusion that the level of students’ utilizing community learning resources (ヌ=3.91) and their perceiving of green and happiness society (ヌ=3.74) were nearly high. The level of moral reasoning was Post-Conventional level (ヌ=4.56). There is positive correlation between the utilization of community learning resources and moral reasoning with p <.001, r =.56; that is when level of students’ utilizing community learning resources is high; the level of moral reasoning is high too. Moreover, the results of the research showed that the problem of utilizing community learning resources came from inadequate supporting budget. This study indicates suggestions for students to use these learning resources such as providing an adequate supporting budget, and promoting cooperation with communities.
