Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether or not attending out of school care centers affects the learning attitudes of elementary school pupils. Due to various factors, parents in Taiwan cannot collect their children right after school so they turn to out of school care centers for assistance. In light of that, out of school care centers function, mainly, to take care of pupils, instruct in homework, offer different talent classes, and help with schoolwork. Out of school care centers are, nonetheless, different from official educational institutions and it is arguable that their teachers, teaching environment, and teaching approaches can affect pupils’ attitudes toward learning. By conducting in-depth interviews with 5th-grade and 6th-grade teachers, this study has firstly acquired an understanding of the impact out of school care centers created on pupils’ learning attitudes, and this study examines the pupils’ attitudes towards class learning, interaction with peers, teacher-pupil relationships and parent-child relationships at the out of school care centers.
