Abstract

TThe present world is tormented due to negative ideology, war, hatred, violence and isolation leading to misery, pain and poverty. This ongoing process consumes lot of human wealth and intellect, which should otherwise be utilized for creating harmony among the communities of the countries and nations of the world. The Dalit women writers like Shantabai Dani through her life as reflected in her autobiography (Ratran – Deen Amha ),holds the key. She had realized the truth of human dignity and peace due to influencing factors like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar based on the Buddhist philosophy and achieved a holistic transformation in her own life. Although she suffered the discrimination and exploitation from the society initially, she had no bitterness but the attitude of gratitude, love, compassion and forgiveness in her heart. Hence this paper is an attempt to present her life-story and show how she achieved the transformation in her own life against all odds and gave back to society with attitude of gratitude and without any bitterness. Surely this Autobiography is like sowing the seed of realization, which is nothing but the seed of love, truth and spirituality having capacity to bring peace and unity in the world through peaceful, non-violent means and it is based on Buddhist Philosophy.. It gives confidence to not only the dalit women but the other women and the entire mankind as well.
