Abstract

This study identified the level of education, the gap in the expectations of individual community members regarding land ownership and compensation money as factors that might fuel community conflict and therefore limit the development potential of the region. The fact that people are ill-informed regarding the settlement process as well as questions regarding leadership in the community also increases the conflict potential within the community. The paper recommend some action in support of future development in the region.
