Abstract

This practitioner-inquiry pilot study examines the author’s reflections on teaching a read-aloud session in a classroom culture that clashed with the author’s teaching philosophy. This article also analyses the author’s reflections on course readings in her master’s degree. This article examines how reflecting on these experiences will help to theorize and develop an understanding of the factors that shape this particular classroom and the author’s reaction to them.
