Abstract

This article is structured in two parts and will elaborate in part one (A) the specific “Blended Learning” approach within the context of E-Learning Systems and its realization. This part will aim to provide a contrast between the specific "Blended Learning" approach of this article and the Virtual Learning approach and their relation to the Anglo-American and European culture of learning. The second part (B) details a study into computer acceptance problems within practical work in the context of a Blended Learning –System. The theory based case study took place after the implementation of the Blendend Learning-System in question. The realization is based on the in depth statistics courses of the Department of psychology at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Contrary to other departments, this approach was the first of its kind based on E-Learning –Systems. The objectives were: evaluation of general computer-anxieties. The evaluation was based on the 2 factor model of the CAS (Computer Anxiety Scale) and took part within 2 groups: one experienced E-Learning group and one control group. These effects were calculated on the basis of Multi-Group-Invariance based on the CAS (Computer Anxiety Scale) and via descriptive analyses. The applied instrument was the CAS as developed by Marcoulides. The LISREL approach (Linear Structural Relationship) was applied to calculate the statistical analyses.
