Abstract

Some problems arise when data warehouses are developed using bottom up approach, such as narrow view of data, redundant data, inconsistency, unmanageable interfaces, and integration problem. The main purpose of this work is to convert data mart into component in a simple and straightforward way. This model has four steps: in the first step, dimension classes and fact class structure is created. In the second step, classes are created and compiled. The third step represents the dimension and fact classes are created. In the fourth step, implementation and re-usability is presented. This model converts the data mart into component according to the user requirements. Components are integrated and give the collaborative, transparent view of data rather than the narrow view of data. It removes the inconsistency problem. The components are integrated and provide a unified view of the object oriented data warehouse.
