Abstract

The theme of this special issue of Food Studies is “Making Sense of Taste: Quality, Context, Community,” and the contributions are based on selected papers from the Eleventh International Food Studies conference in Copenhagen on October 28–30, 2021. At the conference, the focus in terms of food studies was placed on taste, with the implicit argument that food cannot be studied without considering the importance of taste. In this special issue, the importance of taste in food studies is studied in four different contexts, all of which have a focus on learning.
