Abstract

A survey of the effect of information technology (IT) on the managerial efficiency of a university library and some of its top management personnel was conducted. The objectives were to identify the ways and methods of applying information technology (IT) to its administration, to assess the extent of the use of IT in the management of the library and examine the extent to which IT has improved its services. Findings revealed that the operations of the library sampled were partially computerized for effective management skills. Suggestions were therefore made for improving the managerial efficiency of the library through effective utilization of information technology.
