Abstract

The purpose of this exploration is to research activity theory and its implications on user experience and interface design. By applying this research to data collected from instructors of autistic students, we can identify areas of sensorial and emotiontive interactions for maximizing user experience in three distinct audience segments: teachers, therapists, and students. The visual component of this research applies findings to interface design and creates a prototype of an iPad app used as an autism tracking tool, “Nedu,” with interfaces that are functional, meaningful, and beautiful.
