The Olive Branch's purpose was a letter written to King George III, to establish the rights of the colonists , but still keeping a professional relationship with Britain. When the letter was given to King George III on , he neglected that letter and did not read it at all. So the attempt by the colonists to make peace with Britain was over. King George III was ready for war and he sent his German troops to America, to helo him defeat the Americans.
