A connection from the sentiments expressed in Common Sense to government is the general idea of turning the anger of the people from small problems to a much larger idea. We can see this in large revolutions lead by groups of people who want to target all the anger of the people towards the entire government in hopes of overtaking it such as the civil wars in the middle east where groups of rebel groups are putting the frustrations of the people to wards their leaders hoping to gain more power to pull of a coup d'etat. A grievance that has transcended through time is the feeling of rights being taken away. We can see this now a days in protest against companies where the women are getting paid less than the men.
