e-Learning Ecologies MOOC’s Updates

Essential Update 1. Collaborative workspace

According to Vygostky's (1962) sociocultural perspective social interaction has a fundamental role in the development of the learning environment. Collaborative learning among students or between student and teacher is essential for each student to advance in his or her zone of proximal development, this is the gap between what the learner can accomplish on his own and what he could accomplish in cooperation with others who are more skilled or experienced.

Technology helps us to open ubiquitous learning spaces where collaboration is possible, due to the interaction among students and tecahers in many to many communication platforms, idependently of their time and place, promoting long distance information exchanges through text based communication or the use of hyper media links.
