collective intelligence

It is the process through which a large group of individuals gather and exchange knowledge, skills and experiences for the purpose of solving societal problems. It is the kind of wisdom and knowledge that grows from a group. When people work together they form a kind of intelligence that simply cannot exist on an individual level. Thus, collective intelligence is a shared intelligence that arises from cooperation, collective efforts, and competition among many individuals and is manifested in consensus decision-making. Collective intelligence performs the function on a larger scale. It is a dynamic concept, subject to new developments stimulated by the increasing development of artificial intelligence technologies. It contributes powerfully to the transfer of knowledge and power from the individual to the collective.
