Multimodal an Approach of multiple modes

Each learner coming to school possess his/her own individual personality. One individual may learn effectively through graphic and pictures while others may learn by oral descriptions. Further some students may learn best by multiple methods. If we consider the multiple method of learning, then multimodal learning would work better. Multimodal education is an approach in which various modes of learning are utilized. Modes represents or communicate information in different ways, for example, Photos, Diagrams, listening, speaking, writing, melody, motions and shades. Multimodal learning can work appropriately with many communication ideas. A student of multimodal approach will be put into the culture where a large numbers of inputs are introduced such as, videos, pictures, movements, audio and daily life activities. This method of learning can positively affect students’ performance and enhance their potentialities. A survey conducted by a famous researcher found that learners who were taught through using multimodal approach were more likely to achieve and perform well as compared to those who were taught only by a single method. Hence, multimodal learning is more effective and utility oriented. Multimodal learning advocates that learners who learn through visualizing, listening and kinesthetically at the same time, comprehend and apply the knowledge and information more positively and better. Combination of these modes enable students to get and learn the new skills in a wide range of techniques and produce a varied learning style. Multimodal learning provides a worldwide learning design by sharing information and data in a most appropriate manner and make sure to satisfy the needs of every individual. For example, transcripts and auditory material help in reading and listening. While pictures and simulations are helpful in maintaining focus. For example, when I was in my bachelors, teachers of mine always used to deliver the lecture by using multimedia, that would include maps, flow charts, and diagrams, which enable me to focus on the work in hand more effectively.
