Collaborative intelligence

Collaborative learning is one of the most important ways of learning. In fact. It has helped humans to solve problems. In fact, regarding to its advantages, it improves cohesion and respect with each others peers, and create motivation in the student in itself (Hmelo, 2013). Now, motivation can be extrinsic or intrinsic. An example of intrinsic motivation, for me, are languages and teaching since I have always been attracted by them. It is not something I have been motivated for different factors outside me, such as traveling to another country or because a friend actually liked them, or socialization. Now, as a teacher, I believe we should have a mix of both, and promote it. In regards to have intrinsic motivation, Brophy (2008) states that is important to have six steps, in regards of the theory of motivation. These are affective goals, described with the elements of tranquility and happiness. Second, have cognitive goals, which stand for the satisfaction of one’s curiosity, Third, it should acquire subjective organization goals. These ones are connected with nature, as human beings. Fourth, there needs to be self-assertive goals, which are mostly individual and require self-determination. It needs to be social support. Consequently, it requires to have integrative goals. These goals create a cohesion of meeting ethical responsibilities, and resource provisions. Finally, as a fifth element, it can be found task goals. These reflect the objectives that we want to reach in terms of creativity and time management. This taxonomy as well as Maslow’s and Bloom’s should be reflected in the panorama of teaching when classes are planned. Last but not least, it exist the fact of evaluating motivation and assessment. I believe that this topic is such a difficult one, it terms of research, and whoever researches and conduct a study on this topic, must be incredible. In here, peer-to- peer learning is important because that way, we learn from our mistakes and have an opportunity to overcome them, but whether it is assessment and motivation, let’s not forget to keep it social.
