New Learning MOOC’s Updates

Does the use of tables and desks in the classroom constitute an advantage in didactic pedagogy?

didactic pedagogy is traditional pedagogy.

reading articles such as "orwell's school days" and "mahatma gandhi's school days" proves that this pedagogy has existed for a long time.

i think that in this pedagogy, the bench-table arrangement has all its meaning and advantages. it allows the pupils to be concentrated and to know that they have to follow the lesson attentively. this arrangement imposes discipline and respect. it would then be difficult for unruly pupils to turn around to talk without being seen by the teacher.

But what is anachronistic about this arrangement is that it is similar to a theatre scene where there are spectators and an actor. at the end the actor is applauded for his acting.

The classroom shouldn't be like that.
