7 Great Education Policy Ideas for Progressives in 2018

This article suggest that the knowledge based economy is hollowing out the middle class, with a dramatic fall in real wages and the number of familes that can consider themselves of the middle class. Job creation over the last 50 years has been mainly in sectors that require specialist training or college degrees and those jobs not requiring these skills have been diminishing rapidly. The disadvantaged are those of colour and those with less income. Equity must be available for all to narrow this gap and once again put the American ideal within reach. And as the politcal systems and parties move further apart, the reality of this leveling of equal accessibility for all moves further and further apart.

Paying for all of this is extremely difficult and unless legislation is put in to place to fund these new policy iniatives, all the best intentions will go by the wayside leaving the gap between those who have access and those who do not.

My take on this-a lot of evidence points to the reality of this situation in every state throughout the nation but there is little emphasis on this as noted in this article. There is so much work to be done and serious efforts at 'unpeeling' the onion!!
