Abstract

In this paper we will discuss the possibility that the somewhat nebulous notion of relationship may hinge on the ability of each of us to function as fully authentic individuals whose work empowers and encourages others to recognise and live their own unique lives in a seamless and safe learning community. We will investigate the notion of “being”, of authenticity in ourselves and its impact on our ability to naturally accept diversity as a normal part of our practice. We posit that when we know ourselves deeply, we are able to demonstrate our humanness in a way that allows others in our diverse workplaces to feel respected and empowered to offer their own unique gifts to complement those of others to create unique and powerful new learning for the 21st century.
