Abstract

Within a Corporate Social Responsibility frame, the leaders of organizations should make decisions and actions that go beyond the company’s economic or technical goals. Considering the employee as a stakeholder, the organization’s interest should also go beyond the firm’s boundaries and should care for whether or not he is happy rather than just care for how well he is faring within the company. This doesn’t happen with most of the current proposals to assess employee satisfaction, which limit themselves to measure a specific facet of the individual's life that benefits the company: job satisfaction, organizational climate, etc. We propose a way to asses a set of variables that have been shown to influence employee’s psychological wellbeing in order to be able to measure the happiness potential of the organization.
