Abstract

Musical intelligence (MI) is one of the unifying features of the human brain and social interaction. Linked with global higher education allows paradigm shifts for aesthetic foundations of the human condition: MI’s capacity of the mind for reasoning, understanding, communicating, learning, and problem solving bring multiple musical forms as vehicles of expression, making MI central to human experience, the earliest emergent intelligence later refined by students and intellectuals. Brazil’s multicultural higher education changes social, musical, and conceptual frameworks, allowing grounded theory extensions of social learning theory within document analysis and phenomenological and ethnographic qualitative research methods, demonstrating stylistic innovations. Musica popular brasileira (MPB) of intellectuals and students came from tropicalia in diverse settings, integrating diverse regions widening the 21st Century Rio-Sao market with diversity and owing a debt to past generations. The current generation of Brazilian musicians has an assortment of multicultural talents broadcast by internet expansion and using MP3, last-FM, and Pandora technologies. YouTube internet music sends Brazil forward with imaginative, multicultural jazz fusion. Online and modern club circuits redefine artistic social boundaries and future revolutionary sounds in Brazil and the United States. Theoretical extensions integrate higher education, multicultural and global studies with social learning theories and multiple, musical intelligences.
