Trade Union Strategies and the Case of the Greek Metal Sector
Abstract
The following paper aims at presenting some methodological concerns pertaining to the field of labor movements’ political sociology. Focusing on the core concept of unions’ strategy, I will try to raise two interrelated issues: how could we conceptualize unions’ strategies based on the existing theory; how could we test these conceptualizations at the operational level. Empirical material from Greek trade unionism in metal sector is tapped in order to support my theoretical and methodological assumptions
