Abstract

Motivated by a radical change in a working environment and encouraged by a genuine need of the promotion of practical research in the medical field and promotion of medical education, English language courses are scheduled to be taught as a required subject in the medical department. Thus, the medical professionals with high professional knowledge are called for, especially with English proficiency. However, English courses in the department of medicine in Taiwan have been developed without conducting a needs analysis. The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions of English needs among medical college students, teachers and doctors. The data will be analyzed by SPSS software and Cha-square. The findings hopefully will suggest for development of English language curriculum.
