Abstract

The development of natural color batik products in community had been studied particularly in Namo Batik Group, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. The objective of this paper was to study the context of community in related to the studied group for developing a natural color batik product. The batik products produced by natural and chemical colors were investigated and discussed including the customer’s satisfaction of the natural color batik products. The ultimate aim of this study was to induce entirely using the existing natural and personal resources in the community. The qualitative and quantitative methodologies were performed in this research. The results showed that Namo Batik Group was located in an agricultural community with the large areas of mixed plantations for example mangosteens and betel nut, etc. These kinds of plants are valuable for extracting natural color especially preparing as batik colors. In general, the natural color is friendly with environment; therefore, the natural color batik products were more environments pleasant than the batik products made from chemical colors. Consequently, almost customers were exceedingly satisfied in natural color batik products of Namo Batik Group. In conclusion, after the research, the group had been learning to develop new products and generating the communion network resulting in increasing of revenue and unity in community. Subsequently, the group was received the grant for continually developing products from Department of Province administration.
