The Power of the Local Village
Abstract
Education can be the key to opening doors and changing life perspectives. Education is a global issue; it is with and through educational opportunities that we can help change the world to a better place. Gaining a range of perspectives has global influence. This practice-based paper examines shared teaching and learning that expands perspectives and understandings. It is based on real work in authentic classrooms. It supports effective teaching and learning for teachers and students alike. The work, ‘The Power of the Local Village’ recognises the importance of collaborative interactive teaching and learning and the ensuing benefits for all participants including the community it develops, the students in the classes and schools and the staff who work with them.
