Abstract

This article analyzes the political dimensions of globalization using the Russian invasion of Ukraine and tensions between China and Taiwan as case studies. While it has been argued that globalization and economies around the world being interconnected and dependent on one another recues the likelihood of war between nations, why then did autocrat Vladimir Putin launch an invasion of Ukraine and why are tensions between China and Taiwan as high as they have ever been in recent memory? This study offers new ideas and discussions about how the political landscape is impacted by globalization and vice versa.
