Abstract

Public education was a significant casualty of the cultural revolution of the 1960s.The tradtional view of education based on self discipline and respect for others was replaced by a consumer choice model in which decision making was emphasized. The disintegration of the school system which followed has been widely documented. The failure of public education has created a number of business opportunities for private sector suppliers of quality education services. U.S companies now spend approximately $25 billion each year on remedial education for their employees. The growth in the number of private schools suggests that parents recognize that bad education, or an education based on false principles leads to disasterous results for both children and parents. This article presents an analysis of a private school investment project, (Montessori), which provides affordable quality educational services at a price which is profitable for the school project developers.
