Abstract

Native manga, Japanese manga, American graphic noval, European comics… all have each own readers in Taiwan, but Japanese manga acquire more fancy what has 90％ market shar in Taiwan. Most manga fans comparatively like the story manga ( ストーリー漫画) of Japanese style. Scholars had knocked the alarm bell of the forward way to advance Taiwan’s native comics style. Up to today, Taiwan manga publishers agent and translate Japanese manga more than publish Taiwan native manga. This research devotes itself to the theme of “ Japanese manga in Taiwan ” to describe the expressive context of Taiwan manga’s culture images under the influence of cross-cultural communication. Taiwan manga image expressed by stimulate of Japanese story manga, than show how the way to derive from Japanese manga element of exclusion and inclusion phenomenon. This article select the representative visual text of Taiwan manga in the age of 1945~2009 , which in order to describe the transition of Taiwan manga image. By doing this, it focus itself in the turn around with newspaper media views of Japanese manga in Taiwan. It also gazes at several special cases of cross-cultural image of Taiwan manga in specific era background. Finally, the article shed some light in the subject of “exclusion and inclusion” with image expression process of Taiwan manga. The elements and styles of Japanese manga have become a part of Taiwan manga culture, even the real power to improve multi-visual culture in Taiwan manga.
