Abstract

The objective of the research study was to develop an instructional model using connectivism to promote creativity based on teacher professional standard for Thai higher education. The research methodology consisted of two phases: 1) developing an instructional model using connectivism to promote creativity based on teacher professional standard for Thai higher education and 2) evaluating the suitability of the said instructional model. The subjects in the study included six experts in higher education instructional design, in curriculum development, and in information technology and communication. These experts had at least five years of experience in their own fields and they were chosen by answering a detailed evaluation form of the instructional model. The statistics used in the study was arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The research found that the model consisted of two parts of instructional processes. Part one, the instructor roles, they analyze the contents based on knowledge standard and set up the instructional environment according to connectivism and the idea of C5 Model (Namon, 2011) by using teaching process of AAA Model (Namon, 2008). Part two, the learners would study through instructional activities designed by the instructors and based on the learning process of AAA Model (Namon, 2008). Regarding the results of evaluation by the experts, it was found that the model was suitable at a good level.
