The Content of Organizational Culture and Organizational Performance
Abstract
This paper reviews current knowledge regarding organizational culture and its connection with the performance of an organization. The first part of the paper presents the best known typologies of organizational culture developed so far and specifies the authors’ view on the functionality of culture types and their relationship to performance. The second part of the paper presents general features of organizational cultures identified in existing research which support organizational performance. The conclusion includes managerial implications of current knowledge.
