Abstract

The implementation of technology and technological advancements has made beneficial contributions to organizations such as improving communication, becoming instantly interactive, as well as providing a platform for further improvements. However, the overuse of technology has the ability to create a fast paced lifestyle, work overload, stress and the merging of personal and professional lives. This paper will seek to show that technological advancements in the workplace are a positive contribution to productivity within organizations, but should be limited by employees maintaining and striving for an appropriate balance between work and home life. This paper also seeks to understand what approaches could be used to address change and transitions in organizations when it comes to technology, as well as draw attention to potential pitfalls when implementing change and how to go about doing so in an effective and efficient manner.
