Abstract

Utilizing a case study, the authors examine a course on leadership training in the arts, and document their devised study of “guided reflective learning,” whereby participants are led through a process of reflecting upon how their thoughts might affect group decision-making, and how their actions can change as their understanding of the group changes. The authors present the “guided reflective learning” process for leadership training as a three-part process of awakening, discovery, and breakthrough; a process which allows participants in a controlled environment to learn and feel what the leadership process is so that it can be reproduced in the business setting.
