Abstract

This paper explores the advancements of wearable and virtual learning technologies in education. Reviewed literature surveys the impact of these technologies based upon pedagogical implications, human psychology and learning sciences, sociological impact, and ethical/security concerns to the learner and community. Using this literature, a new model is discussed for the venue of schooling in this new millennium, the role of these technologies in constructing the “self” and learner identity, as well as teacher and institutional responsibilities to facilitate new forms of knowledge.
