Abstract

Over a number of years the relationship between software and generative art has created some negative responses between the two art forms. Yet both Internet art forms both depend heavily on distribution and information exchange, either due to the content of a particular work or exchange. As technology advances at a greater rate it is important to consider how artists are using these forms to enage with social practice on the net and else where. The process of software and generative art can provide a different approach or understanding to internet art.
