Abstract

Today the dissemination of information cannot be controlled, and it has been transformed into a different, or inexpressible, medium through other interferences. Since materiality clearly drives performance, in today’s new media performative materiality faces re-engagement, deconstruction, and neo-materialism of the text or image such that it turns into an entity-driven approach and creates a new industry. In that context, this paper acridly re-reads the ontology of performative materiality through Derrida and Deleuze, who highlight the real critical and creative acts for posthuman theory. In consequence of historiographic object-oriented philosophy, this paper will evaluate and embody the issue of how the monistic approach transumed to antagonism within the cultural domains of societies. The paper will also discuss the Gezi Park protests in Taksim Square by emphasizing the “power” of the image in speculative realism in relation to the old media.
