Abstract

This practice focus paper describes how the recognition of Multiliteracies (multiple literacies) and understanding that literacy is the responsibility of all educators will allow more accessible and effective teaching and learning to occur. Such practice enables the opening of doors to a range of perspectives, understandings and skills that enhance teaching and learning for all participants in that learning community. It allows for greater depth of meaning making because one can ‘read between the lines’.
