Abstract

Whereas diversity is usually based on observable characteristics such as race, ethnicity, language, culture, gender, etc., the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), recognizes sixteen different types of personality among normal people. While psychological type may not be as easily visible as other kinds of diversity, there are significant differences among people who share the observable characteristics that are usually referenced when diversity is discussed. This paper takes into consideration psychological type, as based on the MBTI, as a form of diversity that is generally overlooked or ignored in discussions of diversity, yet should be regard as an important component of diversity.
