Abstract

Sport is seemingly dazed and confused—almost as if sustaining a concussion itself—on how to proceed in the regulation and management of brain injuries. Pushed and prodded by doctors and insurers, what has been absent is a consistent and cogent approach as promulgated by the harmonized World Anti-Doping Code of WADA. This paper discusses brain injuries, their almost inevitability in contact or collision sports, and proposes a standardized framework for their regulation deserving of contemplation by sports governing bodies.
