Abstract

The needs assessment model aimed at education on risk prevention presented here, seeks to be a practical guide for the development of this type of activities, planning the tasks that their implementation entails in three concrete phases: 1) planning the assessment. 2) Analysing and prioritising the needs detected. 3) Analysis existing resources. None the less, we must insist on the flexible nature of the activities proposed, since the specific ends of each particular case can introduce variations in the action to be taken. The present study proposes a model to develop this type of educative interventions, as it will allow us to: a) gather reliable information about existing problems; b) take action to fulfil the needs of the pupils and teachers; c) carry out assessments; d) make decisions with regard to the distribution of resources and planning of educative intervention programmes.
