Abstract

Research in language teaching is becoming an area of interest for many researchers, especially with the increasing numbers of non-native English-speaking students willing to study at higher education institutions, many of which use English as a medium of instruction (EMI) in their academic teaching. The purpose of this study is to evaluate non-native English-speaking students’ perceptions of their experiences in academic programs at a private college in Kuwait that uses EMI. The study indicated that the majority of students were satisfied with their English language proficiency, preparatory courses, and teaching staff. This study provides valuable information about non-native English-speaking students’ experiences and highlights the importance of workshops for developing the ability of teaching staff to deal appropriately with these students.
